Drones are all the rage. It can be really fun trying to fly the drone to take all sorts of pictures or videos. There are even racing drones events that you can have too. But while these events can be fun, it is nerve-wracking whenever the drone refuse to take off, even when it was working perfectly fine the day before. In such cases, before you smash the drone, why not figure out steps that you can take whenever your drone refuse to take off?
My Drone Won’t Take Off
Whenever your drone refuses to take off when it previously would, there have to be some changes that you made that causes the turn of events. It can be a modification that you made or the displacement of otherwise in-line propellers. To troubleshoot this, always adopt a step-by-step approach. Here are the steps that you can follow.
- Reset the drone’s setting to the default settings.
- Check the battery levels. If need to, you should charge it.
- Check the position and rotate of the propellers to make sure that they are in the correct direction.
- Carefully take out the hull and check the connections across all the boards. If you need to, you can bring the drone to a certified repair shop.
- Switch the propellers around.
- Ensure resistance of propellers is negligible. The bearing cannot be too thick as it will impede the action from the propeller itself. To test this the propellers should be able to spin with your hand.
- Check if the motor is tight and the motor pinion gear isn’t too far in.
More often than not, if there is little resistance on the propellers itself, then it should be a case of the propellers being installed wrong. As such, it will always be good to do some checking before you get frustrated over a silly mistake that you have did!
